Description as a Tweet:

MiniMatch site lets you browse and pick out an ideal non-profit or charity and contribute pre-calculated, below-average amounts, then share with your friends to encourage them to donate.
For those willing to contribute, but don't know how much they should/can't afford very much

Inspiration:

Someone saw Wikipedia's message asking for donations and started thinking.

What it does:

Connects people who are willing to donate with organizations that survive on donations.

How we built it:

We made a website with JavaScript, React, and Firebase.

Technologies we used:

  • Javascript
  • Node.js
  • React
  • Misc

Challenges we ran into:

Only two of the four of us had experience with website development.

Accomplishments we're proud of:

We went from strangers to a team without any major bumps; we were usually able to focus on the problem in front of us, instead of a minor, far-out detail

What we've learned:

The two of us who don't have webdev skills want to learn some.

What's next:

We've had a lot of ideas we've put off because we don't have enough time during the Hackathon, and there are rumors that some of us would like to continue when this is over.

Built with:

Webdev software

Prizes we're going for:

  • Best Finance Hack
  • Best Venture Pitch
  • Best Domain Name
  • Best Beginner Web Hack
